Mechanical testing
Static and dynamic tests (low frequency)
Mechanical components subjected to fixed or time-varying loads during operation may suffer damage or failure. It is therefore essential to carry out tests to verify or define the limits of static failure and fatigue, resulting from repeated stresses with load intensity even considerably lower than the yield values..
Main test objects: seats, axles, suspension parts, chassis, moving body parts.
Texa can also carry out these tests on large components, as it has a large slotted table for assembly and the possibility of adapting the position of the actuators for the application of loads.
Type of test:
- static, with the application of a load (usually tensile) at a defined rate, until the component fails
- low-frequency dynamic, with application of time-varying loads (usually sinusoidal) in force or displacement control
Fatigue tests can be conducted continuously 24 hours a day and, if required, combined with thermal and pressure stresses. It is also possible to combine several actuators on the same test.
